Mission: Focuses on improving the quality of life for veterans and their families.
DAV Chapter 30 in Mountain Home, Arkansas, hosted its 19th Annual veterans appreciation picnic to connect isolated veterans with care. Community donors and organizations like Good Samaritan Society supported this effort, which quickly outgrew its venue. With ASU Mountain Home Campus providing a larger venue, the annual event grew to assist over 800 veterans. This successful model has since gained national recognition, leading to state and national replication efforts.
We are proud of the hard work and volunteerism of the chapters and departments in our communities. Whether it’s a disaster relief effort, a local fundraiser or even an inspiring story about a DAV member, we want to share it!
If you have a story to share about a department or chapter that is going above and beyond in your community, send it to: feedback@dav.org.
